Headshot Portrait Shoot ~ Mitch Moffit

Part of our job is working with fantastic, caring and up-beat people. Our friend Mitch (Mitchell) Moffit, who is a top 50 candidate for Queensland, Australia Tourism Best Job in the World contest, is more than just one of these great people we get to work with.

Our photoshoot with him was relaxed and fun! We used a high key white background, and enjoyed the lighting and photos we got from this shoot.

Magazine Fashion Shoot ~ In Studio, Guelph

On Feb 12, we shot a fashion shoot for a local magazine.

The stylist Avril Marchegiano acquired the outfits from ‘Meow’ Downtown Guelph. A consignment clothing store in downtown Guelph, Ontario, Canada. They specialize in pre-loved and vintage clothing, accessories, and jewelery. We are located at 10 Carden St, Dowtown Guelph (just across from City Hall). With such a keen and unique eye the outfits were just fantastic!

Our model Laura Nielsen was a pro and very fun to work with.

Band Shoot , Evil Genius

We covered Evil Genius for their cover shots, and venue shots. We toured around some of the local places here in Guelph. We love some of the back allys and they proved very useful for the type of images the band wanted.

Fun and approcahable, Evil Genius were a pleasure to capture.

Behind the Scenes ~ Engagement Photography Session, Guelph

We headed out to the covered bridge for the engagement photography session in Guelph in the morning, on one of the coldest record breaking days. With the windchill it was -30, but it was sunny and our clients were very excited for their engagement shoot. I must admit so were we, we love what we do!

We worked efficiently and had brought a blanket for our clients to warm up in. I couldn’t help but cry because of the wind at times which froze and I”m sure looked a little on the funny side. All-in-all we captured fantastic photographs of Michelle and Allan’s engagement shoot, here in Guelph.

We had the privilege of capturing Annika and Thomas’s special day. We started off separated Jason photographing the set-up and the guys getting ready, and myself photographing the women getting ready. Then coming together at the ceremony. Taking mostly some candid shots, and later after the ceremony, some traditional posed shots.

Behind the Scenes – In your home portrait session, maternity session

One of our portrait packages is an “In your home” portrait session. A way to make everyone feel comfortable we meet and/or talk with the clients before we have the portrait session.

We talk about what you’re looking for, what type of shots you want, and then shots we’d like to do. This option is a great comfort and our clients are always happy at how relaxed, comfortable and easy this exciting offering is.

Clients before the shoot

This past weekend we were out shooting an “In your home” maternity session. Our clients were very impressed at how efficiently we set up, took the shots and how comfortable the whole session went. “We love our portraits, and it was really quick!”

Setting up a shot

Before we do a shoot we get to know you with the meeting and/or conversations and get a feel, description layout of the house and what we’ll need. Plan some of the shots, and then allow for professional spontaneity.

Our Inspiration, Our Beginning

Amanda's Lily

Ironically both Amanda and Jason’s first photos are virtually the same.Photographed apart, years before they met one another, it seems as though they were destined to meet.

Amanda’s photo, featuring a pink water lily and frog was taken in her early teens when she began to study photography. Out on a shoot in her neighborhood, discovering a pond, a quick snap and voila, her passion was solidified.

Jason’s photo, featuring a pink water lily, in almost the same position and light as Amanda’s, was taken in his early 20s, when he started studying photography. Out venturing in Guelph, he came across a pond and voila.

They both find the story of their ‘joined from afar’ photos, and love how connected it makes them feel. They know photography is where they should be, where they want to be and where they love to be.
