Why Hire A Professional?

In 50 years, all that you’ll have left from your wedding day is your memories, and your pictures. Your office archives, family portraits, events all but a photograph to look at.
CD’s won’t last forever, your Wal-Mart printouts won’t either.  Professionals work with other professional companies to make sure what you are getting is quality. Professional prints will last.

We hear often from couples, we had our cousin, uncle, friend shoot our wedding, portrait, corporate event. It only cost us pennies, we got all of the images on disk.
No offence to your sister-in-law, but they’re no professional. Is their studio separate from their home, or did they shoot you in their basement/garage? Can you see the ambient light around them or are they surrounded with dark, filled with flash? Are they under exposed or over exposed? Sharp focus? Optimal composition?

Professional photographers, will offer options and explore different styles, and lighting. They’ll have different lenses and backup cameras. They’ll have professional equipment like but not limited to; light stands, sandbags, soft boxes, strobes, wireless/wired flashes, umbrellas, reflectors etc. They’ll work; they’ll pose and put you in different lighting situations for optimal results.

A professional photography camera is not a new present, entry level SLR. Yeah that rebel or 3000 is nice, but it's no professional tool. Sure it will snap a picture, but can it capture a moment?  Can it light properly? Will it focus properly? Professionals will use higher end equipment, have an artistic eye, and be able to communicate with you how to pose, change position for a more creative and artistic image. They are quick thinkers and know their equipment inside out, solving problems on the fly and are ready for any weather or lighting condition that may arise. They’ll not only focus on the subject, but the whole picture.

A professional will get to know you, will meet with you and find out what your needs are and what you are all about. They’re not afraid to tell you, sure we’ll shoot this image your way, then we’ll shoot it our way, and then we’ll have more options to choose from! They’re not afraid to say, no either.

If you ask a professional photographer how fast their lens is, you may have to sit down and listen to them explain in passionate dialogue, a history of their favourite lenses and why they love them, what they do, and how this would benefit you and your low lighting needs.

The professional photographer doesn’t just stop after the picture is taken, they will correct and utilize their own editing style to the photographs they take. They’ll use up to date software and techniques and editing equipment. They’ll produce for you amazing images with great quality.

This is their business, this is what they do.

We love what a fellow photographer posted on their twitter feed  “Our new ad – We fix amateur photography” His name is Scott Bourne and he’s from photofocus.com.
Bourne continues on “Everyone who owns a camera – and that seems to be everyone period – thinks they could be a professional photographer. How many times have you heard “You must have a nice camera” after showing off a portfolio-quality image? We’re already battling a severely under-educated clientele. The client thinks ANYONE can do our job. We’re fighting mass competition and a public that doesn’t know better.”

I’ll leave you with these thoughts, and educational points. In hopes have answered for you, why hire a professional photographer?
