If you are a beginner who loves to take pictures but wants to learn more about how your digital camera works and how to compose better photos, this workshop is for you.
We’ll cover the basics of photography, so whether you’re using your point-and-shoot or a digital SLR camera, you’ll benefit from this class.

Intro to Flash Photography
You have a digital SLR, you’ve mastered the manual settings, and now you want to learn more about the flash. Not just the speed flash on your camera but using external flash units, too. We’ll explain the basics first, then move on to more dynamic and creative lighting strategies.

Creative Journalling
This class is for the inner artist in all of us. Whether you’re a writer, a lawyer, a student, a teenager or a retiree, you can use this workshop to develop your creative eye through photography, drawing and journalling.
You can use a point-and-shoot, a film camera, an SLR — anything that takes a picture. You will need a journal that is photo safe for writing and drawing in. We will work together as a class to observe the beauty in our everyday lives. You’ll get a basic lesson in both photography and drawing, then we’ll explore more creative ways to look at the places we see every day. This workshop is a great therapeutic way to journal as you learn to take more creative pictures.
Six two-hour sessions, Wednesday evenings from 6 to 8 p.m.: $300
Sessions led by Amanda, assisted by Jason.
Daytime Mommy Time
Come by yourself or bring your children along and have some fun while learning about photography basics. We'll show you how to use your camera more creatively and teach you the basics of composition and lighting. If your kids have a camera, we'll show them, too. This is a great way for mommies and children to bond together creatively. If you're a stay-at-home daddy, come and join us, too.
Two two-hour sessions, alternate Thursday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon or afternoons from 1 to 3 p.m.: $95
